Background:
As part of our SixBit installation, we download and install a copy of SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. SQL Server 2008 R2 Express is a program from Microsoft. Client versions of SQL Server require SQL Server Management Objects.
Symptom:
Users will see an error that says "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo'....".
Possible Causes:
SQL Server Management Objects did not install correctly on the user's computer.
Solution:
Manually download and install SQL Server 2008 R2 Feature Pack which includes Management Objects. It can be downloaded from SQL Server 2008 R2 Feature Pack SP3
