Is there a way to install SixBit without installing SQL Express? I already have a SQL Server Environment using a paid version of SQL and would like to use that?
The best way to handle integrating SixBit with your existing SQL environment is by taking the following steps:
1. Do a full Install of SixBit: You will need to run the SixBit Full Installation once for the tables and schema to be created. If so desired, you can do this initial install on a different computer so that it does not interfere with the SQL environment that you have created.
2. Backup database: Perform a backup of the database that is originally created during the full installation.
3. Create An Instance: On the server, create an instance for SixBit. SixBit needs its own SQL instance to function properly. We normally name the instance SIXBITDBSERVER, you can however name the instance to your liking.
4. Move the backup to the Server: Copy the backup onto a flash drive or move to a network location you can access from the server. Using Management Studio, attach and restore the backup to the instance you have created for SixBit.
