Background: SixBit's installation process includes downloading and installing SQL Server 2022 Express from Microsoft. During initial installation, the system creates a SQL Server database file on your computer.
Symptom: You may encounter Error 27506 - The server could not load DCOM (7404) when the SixBit installer attempts to create the database file.
Possible Causes
Security programs and firewalls are designed to protect your computer from programs creating files on your computer, and some of them do not allow the creation of database files. Known problematic programs include CA Security Suite and Nvidia Hardware firewalls.
Solution
Temporarily disable your security software before proceeding with installation, then complete the setup process and reactivate the security programs afterward. If you identify another security program causing this issue, please let us know so we can add it to this list.
