Background: SixBit uses controls from third-party vendors. Sometimes those controls have incompatibilities with other software installed on your computer.
Symptom: You may see an error stating HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM Component. This typically happens when placing the cursor in a numeric field such as the Weight/Dimension fields on the Item window, or when opening the Edit Purchase window.
Possible Causes: This is most often caused by camera or webcam driver software, or photo and media editing software, that installs its own COM components which conflict with the controls SixBit uses. Software recently installed or updated around the time this error started is the best place to look first.
Solution
Uninstall the conflicting software, or restore your version of Windows to a point before it was installed.
If you have recently installed or updated any camera, webcam, or photo editing software around the time this error started, try uninstalling it first to see if that resolves the issue.
