Background:
SixBit uses controls from 3rd party vendors. Sometimes those controls have incompatibilities with other programs and are out of our control to fix. This is one of them.
Symptom:
When placing the cursor in a numeric field like the Weight/Dimension fields on the Item window, or when opening the Edit Purchase window, the user gets the following error:
"HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component"
... this may also be accompanied by...
"Value does not fall within the expected range"
Possible Causes:
This is caused by incompatibilities with other software. We have verified that it is caused when loading the following software:
- drivers for the GE X500 digital camera
- ArcSoft MediaImpression
Solution:
To solve the problem, restore your version of Windows to a point before you loaded the offending software, or uninstall the offending software.
