Donna: Make sure your software is up-to-date. If the problem persists, SixBit support is always helpful. You can log a support ticket.
Mike: I think that lollipop is a magnifying-glass mouse pointer. When you have this pointer, you can use the scroll button on your mouse to zoom in & out to magnify the picture for a better look at details while you are editing. If you click, the pointer changes and you can drag the picture around with your mouse, again to help you look at details while you are in edit mode. This is really a nice SixBit improvement but it may take you a day or two to figure it out and get used to it.
Bob: Thanks for your input. You are correct, there is not much sense in forcing Sixbit when I can perhaps customize it some. I already do custom SQL queries both inside & outside of Sixbit. Custom fields may provide a solution by giving some additional query options.
Bob: I only sell on eBay, no Etsy, etc. But sometimes my items have inventory and are otherwise ready to list But I am not ready to list them as described above. Most times I list from a view like “Available to List” and these items continue to show there. When you park items in your repository folder “Awaiting Upload” folder, do they still show up in Sell Items Sixbit provided views like “Available to List” and/or “Available to List, Unlisted on eBay”?
DJ: Once you get your Shipping Presets somewhat set, you can also begin revising a batch of running listings all at once. Powerful & efficient.
Also you can see all Running Listings in the grid and check your Preset column(s) and see if you missed anything. I use Presets for Shipping, Payment & Listing Upgrades.
Hang in there on the learning curve. Sixbit is worth it. I am a ‘software guy’ and am still learning after 20 months. It takes about 90 days to be reasonably comfortable & proficient.
Mike:
When you open the Wrapper for edits, there are 2 edit modes: “WYSIWIG Design mode” and “HTML Edit mode”.
Toggle between the 2 modes with the tabs under the wrapper text. If you hover the mouse, you will see tooltips for the named modes. You are probably using the wrong mode when you typing your HTML code.
I found a way to do this perhaps 6 months ago. In a nutshell, export the items for all the running listings in one category to a CSV file, make modifications to the CSV file, then re-import the items using both the “Update Records” option and the “Update Running Listings” checkbox.
Before exporting the items, make sure that all item specifics are populated for at least one item so that the CSV file ends up with all the needed column headings.
Steve: Seems that it is working out better for me to leave them in Workflow “Under Construction” in a folder called something like “Pending”. This is because I prefer not to see them showing on the Dashboard count for “Items awaiting upload” nor in the “Available to List” Sell Items View.
In my mind, they are not really ready to upload or “available to list” until some other event occurs outside of Sixbit.
Trouble is that I have almost 30 folders already in my Workflow “Under Construction” section, so it is sort of running out of vertical space in that sidebar.
Work offline instead of in a browser. Import new items from CSV and/or XML files. Keep an archive of all items that you ever listed, for as long as you like, with the ability to re-list them months and years later. Send ship notification emails.
Brandon: thanks for your reply. Mostly I just wanted to make sure I was not missing something ( if there was a .replace function) . I use a lot of conditionals in my description wrappers. These put item specifics details into my description text conditionally if the item specific is populated. For example: {{IF[[Voltage]]=”,”,’Voltage: [[Voltage]]’}}
Thanks, Tim
Is there are .Replace function ??
Or did the solution require other changes to the conditional statement?
I have an order from this evening about 8pm that won’t come down to Sixbit. Also have errors in error log once every hour about not being able to synch feedback. Feedback synch’d at 7pm eastern but failed at 8pm and after.
I tested modifying an active listing: this worked with no problem.
John. Thanks for your reply. I just submitted a ticket for the above, and a second ticket for another possible glitch.
John: I have some acting up again. It is almost like one must wait for ‘Aspect Adoption’ to flag them. So let me know if that flagging occurs in the background like by the agent or what? There is something confusing about it.
Perhaps I can send a ticket sometime tomorrow. I’ll put your name in the ticket.
Thank you.
I had fixed them all and cannot seem to get one to act up again by undoing. At least not yet. Most (but not all) of the eBay listings were listed as new items with UPC codes. When something is repeatable, I will submit a ticket.
When the problem was occurring, I was seeing counts for ‘Aspect Adoption’ on my dashboard. Are these counts updated immediately or on a schedule in the background?
