I have left my photos in the db.. although SB suggests I move them.. I am nowhere near the 10G DB limit.. however, I keep my original photos in a folder with my original naming on each. When creating a listing, i move the photo image to SB… I also keep an inventory slip for the item with the photo original name on it along with the SB-inventory number… so, if I need a photo it is “my” folder. I could move the photos from SB to the SB off-DB storage and still have access to the photos. Just a work around….. Nick

The buyer address will also show up in 6bit after (immediately after) you send the buyer an eBay invoice. The eBay invoice has all the buyer information (address) displayed as well as the shipping options you have posted in your listing, AS well as combined orders if they have bought more than one item.

I think I’ll go back to the previous version of SB 3.0.0… the import of addresses worked there.. just doesn’t in the 3.0.203 version.. The facts point to the import working since it was first reported on this board 5/15… import worked for me until I switched to the newer version on 5/21… then it stopped working.

I submitted a ticket when I upgraded to 203… was told by SB that it was an ebay decision to not send along the buyer address…. Problem is, cannot really send a SB invoice with shipping charges without the address.. so why bother sending a SB invoice at all? Seems to defeat the purpose that SB touted in terms of connecting with your buyer.

At the same time, going to the ebay “send invoice” window shows the buyer’s address. Why would it show up there but not be able to be imported to SB?

So at this point, I don’t know if it is a spin from SB or if it really is an ebay issue. What I do know is that it is an issue for me……..

Try this first… from a previous post from Brandon:

heck to make sure your SQL instance is running. Sometimes Windows likes to just turn it off or not start it up.

To restart the SQL instance, go to your Start menu and do a search for “Services” (right click on the “flag” at the lower left corner and select “search”) and open the first result. Then within the Services window, look for “SQL Server (SIXBITDBSERVER)”. Right-click on this service and select Start.

Then try to run SixBit again. It should start up ok now.

IF IT DOESN’T, the there is the possibility that SQL was not installed properly. CREATE A SUPPORT TICKET.. the SixBit folks will help (and are really good at it). Nick

I don’t think you can just delete the sales record.. but if you delete old listings that sold, the sales record goes too.

Go to SELL ITEMS/PREVIOUSLY LISTED. Highlight the items you wish to discard. Then, RIGHT CLICK on those items. Select PICTURES/DELETE PICTURES FROM DATABASE -hit enter.. this will delete photos if you want to.

Use same process, select DELETE to delete the listings.

The photos will be deleted from the sixbit photo storage which (as I understand it) is no longer in the database. If you have your photos elsewhere (in a folder), those won’t be deleted.

Deleting the listing item deletes it (and the sales record if there is one).

How do I shut off the notifications.. I really don’t need an email telling me that someone has “replied” everytime someone posts something.. another unwanted (by me) feature….

probably the same issue I reported.. (agent stopped working). You can check to see if the agent is working.. from the c:\ prompt type services.msc and check to see if sixbit agent is running. if it isn’t you can start it..

Was able to restart the agent “Sixbit Agent” last night… This AM on startup, the “SQL Server Agent (SIXBITDBSERVER)” was stopped.. Had to restart it to open the program. Running version 3.0.0…..

Just trying to help you out.. Their “cost” is their cost. It is a product (like my Chevy) which they sell .. I don’t set my Chevy price.. If I want it, I pay the price. If I don’t want to pay the price, I go for the Yugo which costs much less (and is supplied with its own pall bearer handles).
