I’ve noticed a huge slow-down that I think started around the time SB added Etsy support. I don’t subscribe to the Etsy module and I don’t have a huge database. It can take forever to load a grid with only a handful of items.
This may be unrelated, I’ve found that ever since upgrading to 3.00.200 or possibly a slightly earlier beta, SB has been running awfully slow. It can take 10-15 seconds to refresh a 2 item grid. I can live with it, but it’s frustrating when you’re trying to get something done in a hurry.
I don’t care much for this forum either, and have only been here a few times at most.
The other forum was sooooo much better.
I’m with you, Ruben. You and I were among the most active, and I think most helpful, members of the old forum. But this is my first visit in probably a week. It’s a dog.
Also, I’m one of the ones who never gets any notifications, even to my own posts or ones I subscribe to.
Awful. Please, please give us back our forum.
Can’t we get some comment from the devs?
On the support tab.
I don’t post here much but I always watch the forum every day and you are all correct it is dead almost no activity and many questions with 0 answers.
It is terrible software and hard to use compared to the old one.
Don’t know why John just doesn’t dump it and go back to the old forum?
Don’t know. Stubborn? Unwilling to admit making a mistake? As far as I remember the only reason for changing it in the first place was so that users would no longer need 2 logons, which seemed to me to be a pretty lame reason. I can’t think of any valid reason for implementing a software change that essentially eliminated a robust user community forum. And now I’m off. Maybe I’ll check back in here in a week or 2.
I know that I almost never come to the forum since they changed the software. I just hate it and it’s not worth the aggravation. I used to enjoy helping people on here by playing around with SB to try to find solutions.
I almost never run auctions, and never switch from fixed price to auction format for any item, so I doubt that’s what did it. But I can’t rule out that it was something I did that I just don’t remember.
Are you talking about keyboard shortcuts? The buttons you mention are already there in the ribbon menu.
Somewhat related to this, I just posted an answer in a thread and then got lost in the corn trying to get back to look at new postings. I ended up having to go all the way back to the SixBit home page and start all over by selecting Discussions. It’s just screwy how it works.
It’s hurting their business because a lot of the old regulars such as myself just don’t participate much anymore and aren’t here helping the newbies, which means the devs waste their valuable time answering questions that used to be fielded by the old timers.
Until yesterday I never got any notifications of responses. Now I’m getting inundated with notices of random responses from months ago. This forum is driving me nuts.
It seems to me that forum participation is way down since the new forum was implemented. I know I don’t come here much any more.
Export the grid to a spreadsheet and print from there.
Recped, I found that as long as I can send an invoice from eBay I can specify no tax. So as long as the buyer waits for the invoice there’s no problem. The problem I ended up having is that the buyer paid for part of a combined order before asking for the tax exemption. I give him a refund of the tax amount, but SixBit only applies the refund to the shipping, so as far as SixBit is concerned the tax was paid and will show on the Sales Tax Report. While I’m unlikely to be audited, it’s a royal PITA.
Devs, there really needs to be a way to manually adjust the sales tax just as we had a need until recently to be able to manually change shipping charges.
Reed, thanks, but the issue isn’t the forms or tax id. The buyer provided the information I needed for that.
BTW, why am I not being notified that there are responses to my posts? Am I missing some setting? I still think this new forum software is a pain.
Put in a ticket.
