Jason,
Hey Todd, you seem rather informed about this, I guess I am confused when you say ebay is discontinuing Third party apps, isn’t sixbit a third party app?
Good morning. First thank you for pointing out a very valid point and one that I should have made clearer in my earlier comment, which I will revise shortly. From what I have found out on eBay and various forums is that eBay is/has cancelled third party app billing and hosting. We have used various eBay apps in the past, such as FeedBack Pro, Webgistix, InkFrog, etc. In the past these apps have been hosted through eBay and Billed by eBay directly. eBay no longer supports these apps in this manner. Those developers who utilized eBay for their third party apps have had to move their billing, hosting, support, etc., to their own servers.
Ok, now having said that….
eBay also supports a TON of “Third Party” apps which are not and have not been billed by eBay or hosted by eBay. These includes apps such as Auctivia, Seller SourceBook, UPS, FedEx, SixBit, etc. Each of these apps works on an “Authorization Token” which enables the application to interact directly with eBay. Now I cannot confirm or deny that any other apps (Auctiva, Seller SourceBook, etc) have been effected but what I “suspect” may have happened is that when eBay started revoking the tokens of their Third Party Apps (starting after October 1st) that the tokens of apps which were NOT directly part of eBay has also been effected. It is that issue that I think is causing problems right now.
I hope that made a little bit of sense.
As SixBit has stated, this is occurring in Beta 3.00.375 and above (so yes, that include .380). When the software is released in Beta form it should always be expected that there could be some issues. I am not sure if this issue is reflecting on the current “Stable” version or not, however whenever a Beta issue is pushed, always be prepared that issues could occur. The option to receive Beta notification can be turned off in SixBit. This is done by clicking on the little orange man in the top left hand corner, going to OPTIONS and then clicking on the “MANAGEMENT” tab. Make sure that the checkbox for being informed of Beta Release on the Dashboard is NOT checked.
Ruben,
What I find strange though is that I can open up SixBit on my laptop, but not on my desktop computer that I do most of my work on. Both computers have the same .080 version installed, and until the past couple of days work, have the same database.
I know the problem is a eBay problem, but why 1 and not the other?
I am going to bet that you will see the issue pop-up on your laptop shortly as well. Since the database is not currently synced it probably will not occur until a refresh is done between SB and eBay. As I understand it, and I could be completely off base here, I think that the full ebay refresh is done like once a day. So you may be good to go until that refresh occurs. BUT hopefully by then the “good ole’ folks at eBay (tongue in cheek)” will get this resolved.
Nabachandar,
When attempting to revise a listing got a message to reauthorize sixbit in seller profile. Made an attempt to reauthorize and keep getting eBay message Thank you, Authorization cancelled. Is anyone else seeing same issue. We are running build 3.00.380.
This entire post is about this issue. It is not a SixBit issue, it is one that eBay is having. SixBit has contacted eBay and they, like all of us, are waiting on eBay to take care of the problem on their end. It “appears” to have something to do with eBay discontinuing the third party apps from their site. I think that went this went into effect that there were some issues on their end that just kind of is having a hiccup.
Here is some information found on eBay about eBay Apps:
What you need to know
As a participant in the Open eBay Apps program, here is what you need to know:
· Program is being terminated in late November
· Final invoices for the mid-month and beginning of month billing cycles will occur on September 15th (9/15) and October 1st (10/1)
· New subscriptions will be blocked after the first final invoice (9/15)
· Open eBay APIs will cease to work shortly after the second final billing (10/1)
· eBay Apps Center landing pages will remain active and will link to corresponding participant applications off eBay
· eBay provides no subscription or billing support for externally hosted applications

I am taking a guess here that this is what is causing the problem. Otherwise it is an extreme coincidence of this just “happens” to be when the “Open eBay APIs will cease to work shortly after the second final billing (10/1)” occurred.
AVR-Sales and Nabachandar, refer to THIS TOPIC.
Dante,
Any update on plans, timeline would be appreciated.
Thanks
Could you be more specific? You know that right now SixBit is integrated with Amazon and Etsy, right? I know that there are future plans to integrate with other online sites as well however the SixBit team tries to ensure that the integration which they are currently working on works without a hitch before they advance to a new one. Etsy was the last integration and I believe that there are still some issues being resolved.
John, Steve, JC and their team are a fantastic group and working on development everyday. But I can fully understand the desire to ensure that everything is working properly before they take on another site with new problems of its’ own.
Good morning Ruben,
I found the same thing this morning using version .080 and getting the Authorization error, on my desktop.
However, my laptop Sixbit program opens right up with no problems, which I found strange.
Hopefully they get this fixed ASAP.
From the best that I can tell this is an issue with eBay no longer supporting application management, which they instituted, I believe, yesterday. I have played around a bit with the URL being passed to eBay from SixBit for the Authorization token. From all indications there, it is not so much a SixBit issue, but an eBay one.
Jesse,
Thanks Todd, we’d like to, but they have to go through our order management system. We are looking into copying/pasting them into our order management system, but it would take about 10-14 hours just to get the ones we need to ship today in. And then another 1 or 2 to get the tracking back to Ebay. We can divide that among enough people to maybe get it done, but it’d be a mini disaster to resync everything again.
I’m also concerned that no stock has been updating. No idea if we’ve oversold something on Ebay. I can try to manually sync that with File Exchange but if we don’t hear anything soon we will need to put our store on Vacation mode or something until Sixbit gets this fixed.
I’ve been using Sixbit and Blackthorne before it since long before I even had a company, 2005ish, and this is the first time the entire thing has completely failed like this. The fact that the software wont even open is absolutely unacceptable. We can’t even easily tell what orders might already be in our order management system but just not reflected on Ebay. Of course Sixbits complete lack of response this morning is also unacceptable.

I have played around a bit with the URL being passed to eBay from SixBit for the Authorization token. From all indications there, it is not so much a SixBit issue, but an eBay one. Like you, we have been using John’s application for years, back when it was Blackthorne and through several migrations before eBay ditched it years ago.
John and his entire crew do a fantastic job in our opinion. We have dealt with them for quite some time and have helped with some Beta testing in the past. I am sure that this caught them completely off guard as well and if I had to bet, Steve, JC, John, Leslie and everyone else there is being flooded with support tickets right about now and are more than likely just as frustrated (if not even more so) than we are.
I am not positive, but can you export your eBay orders using the File Exchange? I am asking this because it “may” be possible to do that in order to process them. Then when SixBit is back up import the tracking numbers and mark each order as fulfilled. I would think that should update SixBit inventory. I know it sounds like a long shot, but just a thought….
Not working for us at 8:12am. If we dont get running soon we won’t be able to get everything shipped in time and risk our top rated status. Any news?
Jesse, you may want to fulfill your orders manually on eBay. We are concerned about the same issue and rather than wait on this to be resolved we are just going to do them manually today and hope for the best later on today.
As of 7:16 [CST] issue still not resolved on our end either.
Good morning Highlander. I believe that this will answer your question:
Users can choose to remove the “Powered by” tagline from their subscription. We want our customers to be successful and we hope they feel the same way about us. Each subscription is priced to include a $3.00/mo. discount for allowing us to place a “Powered by SixBit” tagline in your listings and emails. This helps build our business and continue to add new and better features for our users. If you do not wish to have the tagline, you can configure your subscription to remove it, but this will remove the discount also. To remove the tagline, logon to your client account on our Support page and select “Services->My Services” then click the “View Details” button next to your subscription. On the details page, click “Management Actions|Add/Remove Addon Modules”. Check or uncheck the modules you want to change and then “Click to Continue”.
Jon,
I believe that you can bulk change the items as well, so that you do not have to do them one by one.
Also feel free to ask questions and yes, this is the right place to find most of the problems that you cannot figure out.
Welcome to the SixBit family! 😀
Good morning Michael.
1. In your Sell Items grid select all of the items that you want to change to automatically decline offers that are below 75% of your sales price (fixed price).
2. Right click on them when they are highlighted.
3. From the pull down menu, choose EDIT —> Batch Change Items
4. Under the Item Fields, choose the “Auto Decline Best Offer Percent”, “Change To” and enter 75.00 then click on OK.
5. Now, when you open one of your items which you just changed, you will see that on your “Fixed Price” block make sure that the “Accept best offer” box is checked. Also make sure that the Auto decline offers” box is now checked and then change the box immediately below to “Percent”. You will now see your 75% listed.
Hope that this helps, I am attaching some screen shots for you.
This is quite easy to do. Backup your database. Install SixBit on the new computer and the first time that you run the program choose to use the database which you backed up.
