Ok, SixBit has pushed a new release, version 3.00.394, which they are hoping will be resolving the memory errors. With any luck this may also resolve some of the performance issues that some of us have been seeing.

It is available as a Beta Release in your SixBit Interface. Hopefully this will solve this issue πŸ˜€

I also mentioned the link not being there Bob. Hopefully they will get that back. Somewhat of a pain to have to go through SB interface to access it.

We are also seeing the same issues on our end Chotii . The issue regarding the not being able to search by item code, sku, etc., appears to have been resolved with the latest release (.393) but there are some definite performance issues now. We are seeing a ton of memory allocation issues which has already been reported to SB support. Just received word back that they have been able to reproduce the issue on their end and the problem is being escalated on up the support chain now.

Another odd thing that is occurring for us now is that SB is randomly closing itself more often than usual. Previously this may happen once a day or so but now it is several times a day it just shuts itself down. Are you seeing this as well?

I am not seeing memory errors messages pop up but see my post about performance issues experienced with latest build .393. Something is definitely off. Other user also seems to have similar experience. Perhaps your seeing same thing. Please post your experience on the post I placed as I am going to reach out to Sixbit to review if everyone is seeing same issue.

Just heard back from SB support. They are able to reproduce the memory allocation error on their end and are escalating it on up the chain.

Guys try to understand that each sales channel that is added by SixBit takes time to implement. It is not simply a matter of pushing the products to the selected channel. There is the back end constant communication updates. There is the integration that SixBit has to make taking into account each individual sales channel’s operating systems and software. Each site utilizes its’ own coding and database structures so the SixBit development team has to look at not only taking our data from our own databases and plugging it in, but plugging it in correctly.

Even once that is accomplished, every single time that there is a change made in the sales channels’ structure then SixBit now also has to work around to correct it on their end.

We were fortunate enough to be involved with the very early stages of the Amazon integrations. Let me tell you, there were a LOT of errors that occurred daily, each one of them requiring time from the developers to:
    A. Find out what caused the issue
    B. Find a work around for the issue
    C. Update the SixBit code version itself.
    D. Push the updated versions to the beta testers
    E. Start right back at “A” with the next issue because each time you find and fix 1 problem, 3 more pop up.

In fact even once the development is “complete” and moves from a beta stage to a production stage where it is available to the general public that is not the end of the problem. The various sales channels are constantly doing updates and tweaking things around. Most of the time this is a problem that the developers of SixBit have to scramble again to try and catch. We all saw a perfect example of this a few weeks ago in regards to the eBay Authorization Token issue.

So in closing I am just suggesting a little bit of patience for the SixBit development team. I know that there are SEVERAL sales channels that have been requested. I also know that they are constantly working to expand the ones supported by SixBit. But you must also realize that just because you may want a particular site, it may or may not happen. Not everyone wants WalMart, Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, etc. So they look at what the largest number of users want and go from there.

Ourselves, I could care less for WalMart integration. HOWEVER that does not mean that I do not think it is a possibility for SixBit to look into. I also do not care for Shopify but then, again, I am only a single voice. Personally, I would love to see shopping cart integration (xCart, Zen Cart, OSCommerce, etc.) but again, I am but a single voice.

Ok, enough griping from my end. LOL! I hope that you, your families and your acquaintances have a truly blessed Thanksgiving!

We have been having this problem showing up for quite a while. I am not sure if it is an eBay issue or a SixBit one. Just like when we view one of our items, as a customer, on eBay it always shows ridiculous “Estimated Delivery Time”.

Exactly, especially with the holidays around the corner, it can get to be a bit hectic going back and forth with each order on eBay.

    Jay,

I didn’t realize that Todd was part of support. Is the offer he mentioned in the post something that we have to pay $99 per hour to use? Some of the snags we’ve run into are not in the videos or help guide.

I am not associated with support or SixBit at all other than as a fellow user. John Slocum, whose title I believe is the president of SixBit, developed various seller tools that we started using in the late 90’s. Around the end of 2013, I think it was, eBay announced that they would no longer be utilizing the BlackThorne application that many sellers were then using and which was developed by John and his team of developers. So when we heard about SixBit it was a natural transition for us to “kick the tires” and we were impressed with the application. So ever since we have been using their application through the good times and even during some of the “bad” or troubling times when there were issues popping up.

While I am not, by far, an expert in the intricacies of all of the SixBit capabilities I am familiar with the vast majority of the application. For some of the more common issues that new users experience I am more than happy to share our experiences and offer some assistance for most of the “basic” areas. For other more advanced areas in which I am not comfortable with providing suggestions then that is where I head to support and ask the guys there. They have all been great at answering questions “in plain ole English.”

Ok, now having clarified that, what type of a “snag” have you ran into? The developers are constantly updating the application based on feedback from all of us as well as the seemingly endless changes that are being made by eBay, Amazon, etsy, etc. Each time that there is a change in one of the sales avenues (such as the fiasco with eBay a couple of weeks ago) the developers have to make multiple changes. I would imagine that with the constant changing it is difficult to keep the videos updated as often as they would like, But as was mentioned by John earlier they are trying their best to keep up with the documentation when someone experiences an issue that could use a bit more clarification.

    Nabachandar,

    Todd,

AVR-Sales and Nabachandar, refer to THIS TOPIC.

You do realize I am the one that started the thread your referring to? The post above was letting AVR-Sales know why they were having issues. But thanks for pointing me to the thread that I created yesterday! [/quote]

LOL that is too funny. Guess I just wanted to make sure that you had the link πŸ˜€ Guess that is what happens when I sometimes have a a glass of something other than “Iced Tea” sitting handy next to me when I am responding to a message or two. πŸ˜‰

    Wayne,

Welcome to the world of SixBit. As you continue to use it you will find that the application is much more than simply a means of “faster listing possibilities.” As mentioned by Recped above, if you are listing on multiple sites you will need to upgrade to the Enterprise Duo edition which will allow you to list on 2 individual sites. (ie: eBay and etsy) There are a number of advantages to the Enterprise Duo version including monitoring your inventory to help prevent overselling on a particular channel (site), super easy shipping, etc. While the subscription price is a little higher I, for one, feel that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

As you continue to use SixBit you will discover that you are going to save a lot of time, headaches and stress in creating new listings, managing existing listings, managing your sales channels, etc.

Users are reporting that they are not able to enter the sixbit application due to this ebay api token issue. Also regular users without admin permissions get presented with the business profile screen showing the eBay/Amazon account info etc…. Can you guys please release an updated version in the future that regardless of eBay token working or not, that we are able to enter into the application since the application is also used for other marketplaces etc… Right now we are not even able to use it for Amazon etc… which is a huge problem. Finally regular non admin users should not be seeing the seller profile screen to reauthorize etc… unless they have permissions on their account.

Great idea. It would be nice to be able to enter the application so that we could still access other sites, create inventory to be uploaded later, etc. Perhaps this would be something that the developers could look into.

Just chatted with one of the developers. He states that they are expecting to see a resolution very soon…..

    Gary,

Is there any way to at least get into sixbit so we can view our inventory???

I don’t think so, not until the application receives an “Authorization Token” from eBay.

    Jesse,

Thanks Todd, yes I was just going to post that good old File Exchange was coming to the rescue! It’ll be a long way from fully automated but at least 10x faster than working with Ebays interface. If the issue persists we can definitely setup our order management system to run on File Exchange instead of Sixbit.

Hopefully the issue will not persist that long. (Fingers Crossed!) Glad to hear that the old File Exchange will be somewhat helpful!
