As if that wasn’t a bad enough glitch, check your pictures on auto relisted GTC and 30 day listings between the 24th and the 26th, they may be MISSING their pictures. SixBit saved the day on that one as I was able to just resubmit the photos, but it was a near system wide glitch that has people fuming.
As an update to this issue, I was able to do the search under eBay Listings as they have a “Return criteria” option. I was just needing to monitor my active listings in case they changed. I would still like to know how this particular search works on SB as I posted above, so I can keep any results in the grid and make changed from there as necessary. Thank you.
Hi Nick,
I just updated to the new Beta, .345, which fixed the issue. It never changed any of my actual listings, but it kept showing a 14 Day policy, no matter how many times I tried to change it back or update the preset. Your first reply above would have been, and was, the correct fix, just needed the new Beta update to make it stick. Thank you for your reply and help. And thank you Terry, for posting this issue. My apologies if I hijacked your thread, but I think your issue may be resolved as well with the new Beta, if you are doing the updates. Jovita
Hi Nick, I’ve tried that, but it keep reverting back to a 14 Day Return policy as a default after I close the preset edit. When I re-open it, it’s back to the 14 Day Return again. Thank you for the quick reply.
Hi Nick, actually, that’s a separate issue I’m having. That preset isn’t sticking for me. It keeps defaulting back to a 14 day return. So what I’m trying to do now, is an Advance Search on running listings to find any listings that have been changed to a return policy. I can;t seem to get that to work for me so I’m assuming I’m doing something wrong. Thank you very much for the quick reply.
I just found out my preset is defaulted to the 14 Day Policy, when in fact, I’ve NEVER offered returns. I un-selected the tick box, clicked OK, then revised all my running listings to correct it back to the way is should have been. I have no idea how this was DEFAULTED to a return policy. To make matters worse, after the revise listing action was all done for the active listings, I went back up to check the preset, and it’s DEFAULTED back to the 14 DAY policy again! Not sure if this is what was happening to you, but hope you found the correct policy, got it to STICK in the preset and don’t have to worry about it again until the next time they move the goal posts.
Hi Robert, be careful with Batch Change as I did some text removal from the Description in the Listing Fields tab from the Batch Change box, but every one of my active listings ended up getting the eBay category and Store categories changed to all the same thing. Something to do with picking up the Item Specifics tab info I presume. Ended up restoring the database backup I did just prior and had to resubmit to eBay to correct, leaving me back to the original text without changes I want. Just make sure you do a backup prior to trying the batch change.
Well, I tried to do a Batch Change revision to all my running listings to remove or replace three lines of text. I created a 3 separate Batch Change Definitions and did each one individually. They worked in removing or changing the text, BUT, ALL my running have now been moved into ONE eBay Category. That one eBay category was on the Item Specifics tab of the Batch Revision. Anyone had this issue with Batch Revisions? I didn’t want Item Specifics changed, just the Description. Instead of going through and individually re-editing each of the 1900 plus listings to get the eBay and Store categories right, I’m wanting to restore the database backup I did just before the changes. My question is what then? How do all those restored listings, with proper categories, get up loaded and replace the running listings on eBay? I’m worried the running listings on eBay will come back in and change the fresh back-up on a refresh. Do I shut down the Agent, restore the back-up database, then highlight all the restored Running listings and right click and select Send Revisions to Site? Thanks.:o
Resurrection of an older post, but have a question. I’m like Noel, I’ve cut and pasted text from my old Blackthorne templates and just pasted it into new Item Templates that I use. All of it pretty standard TOS type stuff. I’ve never used a Description Wrapper, but from what Bam is saying, it looks like that would be fairly easy to do. I currently have one line of text that I want to remove so I’m guessing at this point, it would be a good idea to just create a basic wrapper and put it into all my listings, running and retired, and replace what’s there.
After reading the User Guide on this, I’m still wondering where I start. Do I create it from an existing listing, an existing Item Template or from scratch on a new template? I would want all of my archived or retired listings, as well as my active listings updated and of course, the 18 or so Item Templates. I’ll keep poking around in the meantime. Thanks!
Hi John, No issues after .330. Working great. Thank you, Jovita.
Hi JC, I’m using eBay picture services. My pictures are loaded into the database from my hard drive, then submitted. I did try your recommendation from the Items view and it said it processed, but then when I tried to submit, it tried to upload the pictures and came back with the same error. I’ll hold off on a ticket and try creating another Item or duplicate and try that. Thanks, Jovita
I ended up removing the pictures from the item, submitting it, then going into eBay to revise the listing and add the pictures. I know this might take a while depending on how many you are listing, but it’s a work around to get things on eBay. I also had tried to go into the running item after submitting it without pictures and added them on by doing a revise (checking the box to re-send the pictures), but while it added the pictures to the database, they didn’t take on eBay.
Hi Tom, I’m not sure how to do that, but wanted to chime in and let you know you’re not alone. Had the same error issue uploading pictures starting Thursday after installing .329. Thought it might be an eBay issue as yesterday, most of my items went through no problem. Today, it was random and have 5 I can’t seem to get uploaded. Back to your question of rollback, I seem to remember it could be an issue with your database as your database is changed to the new Beta and might not work correctly when you roll it back to an earlier version. Someone should be along to help with more knowledge.
Have you tried to restore a previous database backup from just before the install to see if it brings your compatibilities back? I’ll be curious to see what mine looks like, but away from that computer right now.
That was it Chuck, thank you!! I forgot all about using the grid. I have about 600 out of 1800 plus listings with second eBay categories that are piling up on unnecessary insert fees. With the new Catalog set-up, I just feel they are no longer needed as people will find the item with MPN and like searches. Thank you to you and TurtleCove for the help. Jovita
