@Timothy – thanks but that doesn’t work either.
@John – Yes, just opened up a ticket. Thank you.
Thanks again, John. I had been trying to export using the little Excel icon above the grid view (Sell Items view). That only exports the grid (where description wasn’t an option to add). I hadn’t explored the Export button up at the top much. I spent the afternoon reading the export and import tutorials and got my description info moved finally. Unfortunately the ‘Populate from’ feature isn’t available on the lower tiers, but I wish it was. I don’t need multichannel support – just moving my store from ebay to etsy. It feels good to be listing again. Thanks so much!
Thanks, John. In the meantime, is there another method I can use to extract my Item Description?
I have closed my ebay store and need to move all my vintage and craft inventory items to Etsy. I unchecked Ebay as my platform (under file/options/sites) and check marked Etsy as my new platform. That’s when I discovered that the description and condition description were tied to the ebay section only. My item description and condition description are the same regardless of where my item is listed so I’ve been trying to figure out how to extract those data fields so I can then copy them easily into the Etsy Description fields (rather than manually copy/pasting each of my 1000 items).
I’ve switched back to Ebay as my site in sixbit while I’m trying to extract this data. I tried to export a CSV, but that doesn’t give an option to export the Description field. As I mentioned in my other post, I was able to copy (using batch change) the Condition Description into a custom field, so now I just need a way to extract my Description field. Is there any other way that this can be done? I’m dead in the water with hundreds of unlisted items that I want to list to etsy as soon as I can.
Thank you for your help.
Sharon
Yes they are kept in your database, on your computer. You should back it up periodically to a separate location (in case something happens to your computer’s hard drive). I keep a back up on my computer, and then on an external drive. Mine is set to auto backup the database.
Thanks John. I was heading over to open up a ticket and thought maybe I should try restarting the computer again. That must’ve reset whatever was hung up because it showed ‘Action: Auto End…’ (or something like that) right below ‘The Agent is RUNNING’ status message on the support tab in sixbit. I just verified and it has now ended everything since yesterday that had not been auto-ended. I should’ve tried restarting again before posting. Thank you!
Mine looks the same as yours. I’m on the current version. I don’t often click on ‘check item’, so not sure if this was happening for me before the latest update. I was using a version from January before updating Thursday to attempt to fix the photo upload problem.
Same here, still errors this morning and can’t upload.
I’m also having issues. Started late last night when I tried to upload more than one listing at a time. I was able to get them listed one at a time with occasional errors. I did get a few items listed earlier today, but this evening I can’t get anything to list. Failed to Upload and the Error: The operation has timed out. I’m on 4.00.061.
I did try a refresh and got the warning that the category tree was skipped because it was up to date, but it isn’t. I’m going to put a ticket in.
Photo error solved. I had turned off the upload verification a few weeks ago due to lots of problems with sixbit crashing or not responding and it’s been very slow. I’ve had a lot of issues with the photos when I’m creating my listings. If I try to do too much the whole program locks up. This happens when I make some collages, or try to move too many photos around. I have to exit the listing or sometimes the whole program, then try editing again.
Anyway, now that the photos uploaded correctly, my variation listed is live. Since I had trouble finding information on how to fix these errors, I’ll just leave my posts here in hopes they can help someone else down the road.
Just an update. The Second error is gone now. The only thing I changed was the quantity. I had entered the quantity on each variation, but when I went in through the Batch Edit screen, it showed 0 all the way down for the variations on this listing. I edited and that error disappeared.
I still have the photo error. I removed all the photos from the main listing and added them back. I didn’t remove the photos attached to each variation yet as this was tedious to add them the first time. Any thoughts on what has been causing this photo error that I get occasionally?
