I agree. Its basically unusable for people with less than perfect vision.
Definitely not resolved. Please see errors above. Tried to list an item just to test, that didn’t work either.
We aren’t able to pull in orders either. I already authorized it once, but in the activity log we are again receiving errors stating –
The lukiegames Seller Account needs to be Authorized. You can do this from the Business Profile screen. [System.Exception]
Followed immediately by
The remote server returned an error: (429) Too Many Requests. [System.Net.WebException]
Now that you mention it it looks like the Sixbit Agent is still successfully updating running listings (or at least it thinks it is – I’ll have to confirm), so our price changes and QOH changes that run through the API might be working ok. Unfortunately its not uploading or updating tracking information though.
Thanks for the update John. Please do post as soon as you hear anything, good or bad. With File Exchange we can hack everything together and get it all out the door quickly enough if we start by around 12:30 EST, so here’s hoping good news before then and it can be avoided.
I definitely want to second the ability to get into the Sixbit application even if it can’t authorize. That would have saved us time this morning and would reduce the risk of double-shipments, etc if we do have to start importing orders through File Exchange.
Thanks Todd, yes I was just going to post that good old File Exchange was coming to the rescue! It’ll be a long way from fully automated but at least 10x faster than working with Ebays interface. If the issue persists we can definitely setup our order management system to run on File Exchange instead of Sixbit.
Thanks Todd, we’d like to, but they have to go through our order management system. We are looking into copying/pasting them into our order management system, but it would take about 10-14 hours just to get the ones we need to ship today in. And then another 1 or 2 to get the tracking back to Ebay. We can divide that among enough people to maybe get it done, but it’d be a mini disaster to resync everything again.
I’m also concerned that no stock has been updating. No idea if we’ve oversold something on Ebay. I can try to manually sync that with File Exchange but if we don’t hear anything soon we will need to put our store on Vacation mode or something until Sixbit gets this fixed.
I’ve been using Sixbit and Blackthorne before it since long before I even had a company, 2005ish, and this is the first time the entire thing has completely failed like this. The fact that the software wont even open is absolutely unacceptable. We can’t even easily tell what orders might already be in our order management system but just not reflected on Ebay. Of course Sixbits complete lack of response this morning is also unacceptable.
Not working for us at 8:12am. If we dont get running soon we won’t be able to get everything shipped in time and risk our top rated status. Any news?
John,
We are having performance issues as well and you mentioned Windows updates. there have been a lot of bad Windows updates lately that have broken applications, caused performance issues, etc, so we’ve been limiting updates to pretty much pre-validated critical security updates only (we use WSUS). Are there any specific updates we should apply to help with the performance issues?
This can be impossible to troubleshoot but the non-working one, which says it was generated by SixBit eCommerce Suite 3.0.113.0, has old-school javascript baked into it with document.writes and stuff, and the entire section is commented out. Possibly automatically by Ebay.
The one that works says it was generated by SixBit eCommerce Suite 3.0.118.0 and is well formed, uses a more modern and compliant design, and well, works. If I had to guess I’d say the description template or whatever you use wasn’t updated or applied to that other listing for some reason. Sixbit’s release notes for .114 say “Added Picture Gallery snippet to comply with eBay Active Content” so I’m guessing that’s the difference.
