Listing on Multiple Sites
The goal of multichannel support in SixBit is to allow for selling on multiple sites using the same tool and processes. The general process involves adding the information you need to sell the item on all sites in the Sell Items mode, listing the items to the desired sites, and then receiving and processing all orders from all sites together.
Multiple Sites and the Sell Items Mode
The Item Window in Sell Items mode is where you will enter all the information about your item.
Obviously there is some information that will be common across all sites and some information that will be different. For example, the dimensions of an item do not change regardless of where you sell the item, however you may need to choose an eBay specific category on eBay and provide an Amazon specific ASIN on Amazon.
The information that is common to all sites is entered in the top section...
...and the information specific to the sites is entered in the bottom section. Notice there is a tab to enter the information that is specific to each site you have enabled.
When an item is listed, the information from the appropriate tab is used to submit the listing.
Allocation Plans are used to determine the quantities that are to be listed to each site and what to do when items sell out.
Titles
The item itself will have a Product Title specified at the top. The Product Title is intended to be a title that you use to identify the item in your inventory. It doesn't necessarily have to be the title you want on any given site. The Product Title is simply what shows up on the grid so you can tell the item apart from others.
Sites that take a title will also have a Title field. The text entered into the site Title field is sent to the site. If the site Title is to be the same as the Product Title, then the site Title can be set to the variable [[ProductTitle]] and it will always be the same as the value specified in the Product Title. Some sites like Amazon allowing listing items through a simple common reference number (known as and ASIN). In this case a separate site title is not necessary since it is stored on the site and is not accepted in listing submission calls.
TODO - Talk about how catalog information is entered for multiple sites.
SixBit strives to make the listing and selling on all sites as similar as possible, but due to differences in the sites themselves, there are a few ways that SixBit behaves differently depending upon the site. See Site Differences for the details.
