Importing from Amazon

When you are just starting out or if you have listed items on Amazon from another source and would like them in SixBit, you can perform an import from Amazon to retrieve any active Amazon listings.   Also, if you regularly list and re-list items on Amazon from another tool, you can configure SixBit to import new items each time it does a refresh.

When SixBit imports items from Amazon, it will create items for each running listing.  If there are existing items, SixBit will attempt to match the listings to an existing item so that it does not create duplicate items.  It does this by comparing the SKU in SixBit with the SKU of the incoming listing.   If a SKU match is not found, then SixBit will try to match items based on the titles.  Any listings with exact titles will be assumed to be the same item.  Title matching can be turned off at Options|Refreshes|Refreshing|Ignore Titles when Combining Similar Items.

To import items from Amazon:

  1. From the ribbon bar in the Sell Items mode click the arrow under the Import button, then select Import from Amazon.
  2. A request will be sent to Amazon to get the current active listings.
  3. Depending upon the number of items requested and the response time of Amazon, SixBit will retrieve the results and import the items when the request is ready.

To import items from Amazon with each agent refresh:

  1. From the File Menu button in the upper left, choose Options.
  2. Select the Refreshes tab.
  3. Check "When refreshing, automatically create new items for listings that are not in the database".
